What's better? A lie that draws a smile or the truth that draws a tear?

This is really true isn't it? And this is also probably why people choose to keep their loved ones in the dark or lie to them, because they don't want to hurt them. However, I do think that when the said loved ones find out the truth, it's even worse isn't it? Because the truth is, they could have known about it sooner if they were told the truth but instead they weren't. =/
